Its not a long drive to Frankfurt from Viernhiem and I got my own personal tour guide with cammy pointing out the sights along the way, for example on the large four lane motorway for a large stretch of this autobahn on either side of the carriageways the road had lots of wires with stuff dangling for mile after mile Cameron said that`s where Porsche test their cars performances, but I think he is wrong I checked when home and found this - Germany is testing an electric highway for trucks as part of a £60 million test project. The country's government announced that specially-adapted vehicles are now able to draw electric power from overhead cables on a small section of the autobahn. It is the first test of its kind on a public road in Germany, located on a 6.2-mile stretch between Frankfurt airport and a nearby industrial park - with another two locations due to open soon.
Developed by Siemens, it allows trucks with special roof-mounted equipment to hook up to electric lines while travelling up to 56 miles per hour.
Frankfurt airport is huge I have flew in and out of it plenty times in the past but this was my first time driven to it, its free to drop of people you get a ticket to pass through a barrier but then no fee, I wish it was the same in Scotland where its getting more expensive to drop people at Edinburgh all the time, It was strange when he dropped me at the airport, Me and his mum separated when he was two year old, so I am used to dropping him off picking him up and these days him driving down and driving away from the house, but this was different he was now dropping me then I was flying off while he stayed at home in a foreign land! it just felt a bit different I am OK with it this is just part of modern life, He never even waved from the back from the back window like he would when he was little LOL see yah auld yin text me when you land, I was thinking Auf Wiedersehen (English definition goodbye, until we see each other again) with the song from the 80`s TV series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet stuck in my head for the next hour
he had also forced me to go electronic scan with my mobile phone as opposed to A flight print out that i normally cherish, no issues though I got through no problem except the long Que at security, it still wasn't long until I was siting with a beer using my netbook waiting to board, Gary messaged me when was I landing he was watching his home football team Clydebank, he would watch for me flying over then join me for a beer in Glasgow when i arrived, and that`s what happened I chatted with a German woman on the flight who was holidaying in Arran but loved Scotland and has visited a lot, I got a seat at the front of the double Decker bus upstairs which always makes me smile and was in Glasgow before I knew it adventure over (for now)
Gary brought a mate to schilling beer company one of my favorite Glasgow bars but its a craft beer place, so I text Gary a different meeting place, as I did`nt think Gary would find it or like the craft beers but he did find it easily and by that time I was at pipers on George square looking for him, as I knew he would find that! whoops a march back to SB.co past the demonstrators again a pro Europe demonstration with loads of st Andrews crosses and one dafty in his royalist top being lifted by the police, I guess he didn't understand the difference between republican and nationalist Europeans, you gotta love the Mayhem oh yer haim toon as gerry cinnamon would say
It ended up a beer day for me as we moved on to the ark then train home to the bull, with me meeting other friends big Eck and wee Al Gary going home when i should have, it was time to get ready for work not to be rough all day Sunday! But it was a good journey home if there can be such a thing from a great holiday
