Arrival equipment and getting going

Waking up at Camerons house in veirnheim in a quiet suburb made for a lazy morning But i wanted to get into Mannheim in the afternoon to book me and the bike on a train to the start of the Danube, Cameron had to be at work until 5PM I had stuff to unpack and repack on the bike, I also had decided on a bargain buy at duty free and bought two litre bottles of single malt whisky which should have been £90 for the two but i somehow got them for £85! this turned out to be a stupid idea as two litre bottles of whisky are a weight i could be doing without on the bike

I have ended up with hand arm vibration syndrome - HAVS from the cycling last trip, my old gloves were done i should have bought decent ones to begin with this pair has done thousands of miles and they were cheapo`s, but I had ordered an expensive replacement pair of gloves made from up-cycled materials and produced by workers getting a decent wage making sustainable products,  I also sent away for a wrist  strap which I got delivered up to Shetland where i work and wore it at night time,  its now getting better the tingling is not as bad but I do think I have done some permanent nerve damage my left hand and fingers tingle all day long so I go around stretching them all the time, i read into it and it affects arms that have been broken at some point my left arm has a plate and ten screws in it from its second break (mountain biking) I may just have to learn to live with that, not all pain is significant

sometimes I wonder if some of that tingling is coming from the shoulder/neck/back area due to my cycle positioning! But I shall just get on with it I have looked into buying handlebar mirrors as my ability to swing my head round to look behind is not so great these days, but worry that would also mean I would no longer try and view behind myself via stretching my neck, which in the long run would probably affect my flexibility, I noticed how popular bicycle mirrors were during the last trip the dutch and Germans bikes often have mirrors and side stands( I found out later if you have mirrors you are better having a side stand as you cant really just shove your bike against a wall as it will then move your mirror) at one point whilst cycling I was looking at a woman's mirror on her bike, it was a single mirror on the bloody wrong side of her handlebars and I was thinking what bloody use is that!? when i realised i was on the wrong side of the path LOL watch arm to the kerb Kenny!( always wear my watch on right wrist since the accident) and i have now also brought a friendship bracelet to tie on the bike handlebars as a further reminder of road side
I also attached a phone holder to the stem and a different backpack  we shall see how the new stuff goes, cammy met me at Murphys we watched Frankfurt v arsenal then got the tram back we were extremely lucky with train ticket checkers as we had no tickets😳! We wrote a wedding acceptance for Charlie in January then said our goodbyes it will be Xmas before we meet again
