Trip number 2

Here we go again road trip to Bulgaria number 2 !


        we were talking about stuff over a few beers in the black bull ,When Bryan says to me he was thinking that his car would be of better use to him now in Bulgaria and he may drive it over there soon , Then Obviously the conversation turned to how much me and Cameron enjoyed our road trip there last year and we would like to do it again someday , Why don't you take my car over bro ? are you serious ? yes it would save me the drive and I may even join you ! ok I will ask Cammy if he is game , turns out it worked in nicely with Cammys plans and he was well up for it and wanted to get started booking , so two days after the original conversation we started booking our new trip to Bulgaria in my bros old wheels
      obviously we weren't going to go the same route ! that would be boring and we didn't have long either to plan or to do the journey as cammy wanted to be back for the 25th of june and I wasn't home from work until the 14th , so we were looking at one week total to drive there and then fly home ,Saturday to Saturday , the first decision was where to get off the British isles and start driving on the continent , My preference would have been Plymouth to Santander but that eats up a lot of time as its  28hrs on the ferry alone and a further drive at either end! there was always dover to Calais its the quickest ferry and cheapest with plenty crossings each day  , but after a quick bit of internet searching we discovered that the chunnel from folkstone to Calais is quicker and the cheapest, so we booked that for Saturday 18th of June , and that's the first stage of the trip booked and paid for ! the next big decision was where to spend our first night on the continent from Calais we will be arriving around 5ish so we want a town 2-3hrs Maximum drive away from Calais ,we considered Paris and I wanted to go to Bruges via Dunkirk ,but in the end we opted for Brussels,its in the right direction as we are looking at crossing from France into Italy over the alps
         when trying to think of things to take on the trip, I remembered we were starting to run out of music last time , there wasn't one cd we hadn't listened to at least once on our last journey, so I've ordered some cd`s from the web and we have some fresh tunes for this journey , cammy doesn't know it yet, but I've made a few interesting buys he will be subjected to ! the best of the seekers ,credence clear water revival, and the best of the mamas and papas plus 3 ska and two tone compilation albums the lucky laddie is going to love his dads choice in tunes 

    Preps ration was chaos as usual I had the merc to get a mo on the last day ! Th le Friday before we left thankfully it sailed though one tire replace nt a knew windscreen wiled £152,26 job done , I just had to jog down in the rain to collect the car from the garage complete my packing fill car with fuel and a quick tesco run for beers and snacks for the road , all that had to be done before I went out on a blind date with my buddy and his girl ! A 18:45 pick up for my blind date in Glasgow is not the best preparation for a road trip to Bulgaria , but I had a fantastic night out at a Japanese restaurant
